Education

New Home and School

In this project, we make sure that the boys and girls at the orphanage receive a decent and complete education. Public schools in Tanzania aren't great, as there's a shortage of teachers and classrooms, with over 100 kids per class and just one teacher.

On the other hand, primary public school is taught in Swahili, so the kids don’t learn English until they reach secondary school (which is in English). Unfortunately, most of the children attending public school can't continue their education and end up working any odd job.

In the new orphanage, we would have more rooms since right now we only have two: one for the boys and one for the girls. In the new place, we plan to create several rooms so that a maximum of 4 people can sleep in each one. We'll also build a modern kitchen, a lounge with a TV for the kids, and a laundry room.

On another note, on the same property, not far from the orphanage, we'll build a preschool and primary school so the kids in the community can attend. The school will be in English and Swahili so that the children have opportunities in the future.

Drinking Water

In this project, our goal is to provide drinking water and food to the school and the orphanage. In Tanzania, there is a serious problem with drinking water, just like in other African countries. Many people lack access to clean water, which is a source of disease.

The same issue exists with food. There are families who bring their sons and daughters to our school and are living in extreme poverty; they can’t afford to feed their kids at home. That’s why we make sure to provide them with at least breakfast, lunch, and a meal at school. This way, when they go back home, their family only needs to take care of dinner.
